Algunas veces la gente lee el versículo de hoy y se salta la parte más importante. Primero se enfocan en el hecho de que el hombre tenía lepra, una horrible enfermedad que requeriría de un milagro para ser curada. Luego vuelven el interés a la pregunta del hombre y se cuestionan si Jesús estará dispuesto a ayudarlo. Pero también necesitamos prestar atención al hecho de que el hombre “se postró ante Él”.
El acto de arrodillarse frente a Jesús, pone de manifiesto la condición de su corazón. El hombre fue humilde en presencia del Señor y primero lo adoró y honró, antes de pedirle un milagro.
Cuando necesitamos algo de Dios, podemos tan fácilmente centrarnos de tal manera en nuestra situación, que pasemos por alto completamente la importancia de adorar y honrar al Señor. Saltamos directamente a hablar de lo que necesitamos de Él, olvidando agradecerle primero por ser quién es.
No importa lo que necesites hoy, sea grande o pequeño, Dios puede ayudarte. Pero antes de pedirle a él hacer nada por ti, tómate el tiempo de elogiarlo, adorarlo y honrarlo por ser quién él es.

WORSHIP FIRST
A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
—MATTHEW 8:2
Sometimes, people read today’s scripture and skip over its most important part. They first focus on the fact that the man had leprosy, a terrible disease that would have taken a miracle to cure. Then they turn their attention to his question and wonder if Jesus will be willing to heal him. We also need to pay attention to the fact that the man “knelt before him.”
The fact that he knelt before Jesus reveals the condition of his heart. He was humble in the presence of the Lord, and he worshipped and honored Him before he asked Him for a miracle.
When we need something from God, we can easily become so focused on our situation that we completely overlook the importance of worshipping and honoring God. We jump straight into talking about what we need from Him and forget to thank Him for who He is.
No matter what you need today—whether it’s something minor or something major—God can help you. But before you ask Him to do anything for you, take time to praise, worship, and honor Him for who He is.
Prayer:
“Father, help me to worship You before I ever ask You to do anything for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
