Amar a Dios y amar a la gente son las principales responsabilidades del creyente. El amor es mucho más que una teoría o una palabra. Es acción, y lo demostramos en la manera que tratamos a los demás. ¿Somos pacientes con aquellos que son débiles o con quienes no son como somos nosotros? ¿Somos amables con todas las personas con las que entramos en contacto? ¿Somos buenos con las personas se lo merezcan o no? Pablo nos enseña a nunca perder la oportunidad de hacer bien a la gente, especialmente a aquellos “de la familia de la fe” (Gálatas 6:10).
Enfocarnos en amar a Dios y los demás evita que seamos egoístas y egocéntricos, eso es algo muy importante para nuestra alegría. No podemos ser egoístas y felices al mismo tiempo. Dios nos creó para recibir de él y luego compartir lo que él nos ha dado con los demás. No podemos solo amar a quienes nos aman, porque la Palabra de Dios requiere que amemos incluso a nuestros enemigos y oremos por ellos y los bendigamos (Mateo 5:44). Al principio parece muy difícil de hacer, pero una vez empezamos a hacerlo, vemos que realmente es la mejor forma de mantener nuestra alma libre del veneno de la falta de perdón.
Pablo no solo nos dice que amemos a los demás, sino que “abundemos” en amor. Dios quiere que sigamos creciendo en el amor y que amemos a los otros más y más. Si estás enojado con alguien, te insto a que perdones rápidamente y permanezcas en paz.
Oración:
“Padre, quiero que el amor llene mi corazón y fluya hacia ti primero y luego a todos los que conozco. Gracias por amarme primero, para que yo sea capaz de amarte a ti y a los demás. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
GROW IN LOVE

Loving God and loving people are the primary responsibilities of the believer. Love is much more than a theory or a word. It is action, and we demonstrate it in the way we treat people. Are we patient with those who are weak or those who are not like we are? Are we kind to everyone with whom we come into contact? Are we good to people whether they deserve it or not? Paul teaches us to never miss an opportunity to do good to people, especially those “of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10 NKJV).
Focusing on loving God and loving others keeps us from being selfish and self-centered, and that is very important to our joy. We cannot be selfish and happy at the same time. God has created us to receive from Him and then share what He has given us with other people.
We cannot merely love those who love us, because God’s Word requires us to love even our enemies and to pray for them and bless them (Matthew 5:44). At first, this seems difficult to do, but once we begin doing it, we realize that it is truly the best way to keep the poison of unforgiveness out of our souls.
Paul not only tells us to love others, but to “abound” in love. God wants us to keep growing in love and to love others more and more. If you are angry with anyone, I urge you to forgive quickly and remain at peace.
Prayer:
“Father, I want love to fill my heart and flow out to You first and then to everyone I know. Thank You for loving me first, so that I am able to love You and others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
