Pero se levantó una gran tempestad de viento, y echaba las olas en la barca, de tal manera que ya se anegaba. Y él estaba en la popa, durmiendo sobre un cabezal; y le despertaron, y le dijeron: Maestro, ¿no tienes cuidado que perecemos?

Es fácil mantener la tranquilidad cuando todo a tu alrededor está en calma y feliz. Lo desafiante es cuando tus circunstancias son amenazadoras o tienes rabia o miedo. Los discípulos perdieron la calma en el medio de una tormenta que se desató una noche cuando se encontraban en un bote en el Mar de Galilea (Marcos 4:35-41). Mucha gente podría entender por qué los apóstoles tenían miedo o estaban molestos en medio de tal borrasca mientras Jesús, que se encontraba en el bote con ellos, dormía durante la tormenta.
Cuando los discípulos le preguntaron a Jesús si se preocupaba por ellos, él se levantó, aquietó al viento y a las olas y les preguntó algo importante: “¿Por qué estáis así amedrentados? ¿Cómo no tenéis fe?” (Marcos 4:40).
Porque Jesús estaba con ellos en la tormenta, no tenían razón para temer. Uno de los nombres de Jesús en la Biblia, es Príncipe de Paz (Isaías 9:6). Y el apóstol Pablo escribe que Jesucristo “es nuestra paz” (Efesios 2:14). Estos versículos nos dicen que Jesús siempre nos trae paz. Sin importar qué tipo de tormenta enfrentas hoy, recuerda que Jesús está contigo manteniendo tu paz.
Oración:
“Padre, ayúdame a mantener mi paz frente a cada tormenta y a enfocarme en Jesús, el Príncipe de Paz. Ruego por ello en su nombre. Amén”.
KEEP YOUR PEACE
A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

Staying peaceful when your surroundings are calm and happy is easy. The challenge comes when your circumstances feel threatening or cause you to be angry or afraid. The disciples lost their peace in the middle of a storm that arose one night as they were in a boat on the Sea of Galilee (Mark 4:35–41). Most people would understand why they were afraid and upset in the midst of such a squall, but Jesus was on the boat with them, and He was sleeping through the storm.
When the disciples asked Jesus whether He cared about them, He got up, quieted the wind and the waves, and then asked them an important question: “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4:40).
Because Jesus was with them in the storm, they had no reason to fear. One of the names of Jesus in Scripture is the prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). And the apostle Paul writes that Jesus Christ “is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14). These verses tell us that Jesus always gives us peace. No matter what kind of storm you are facing today, remember that Jesus is with you, and keep your peace.

“Father, help me to keep my peace in every storm and to stay focused on Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who is my peace. In His name I pray. Amen.”
