Y que procuréis tener tranquilidad, y ocuparos en vuestros negocios, y trabajar con vuestras manos de la manera que os hemos mandado, a fin de que os conduzcáis honradamente para con los de afuera, y no tengáis necesidad de nada.

El versículo de hoy está lleno de buenos consejos prácticos. ¿Cuánta más paz podríamos disfrutar si todos nos ocupáramos de nuestros asuntos y oremos, en vez de juzgar lo que no entendemos o con lo que no estamos de acuerdo? El apóstol Pablo confirma los beneficios de una vida tranquila, en vez de una llena de conflictos y confusión.
¿Con qué frecuencia ofrecemos nuestra opinión sobre algo de lo que no tenemos conocimiento? Pienso yo que ¡muy seguido! En vez de dar opiniones no solicitadas e involucrarnos en situaciones que no nos conciernen, Pablo nos dice que nos mantengamos ocupados. Debemos enfocarnos en nuestros propios asuntos, pues eso nos mantendrá tan atareados, que no tendremos tiempo para involucrarnos en cosas sin beneficio que solo causan confusión.
Cuando ofrecemos nuestras opiniones, muchas veces decimos: “solo intento ayudar”. Pero para que alguien reciba nuestra ayuda, primero debe haberla solicitado y la mayoría de las veces, si no la pide, es porque no la necesita o no la quiere. Te animo a seguir las pautas simples que Pablo ofrece en el versículo de hoy. Si lo haces, encontrarás mayor paz y disfrute en tu vida.

“Padre, reconozco que muchas veces doy mi opinión sin que me la pidan y quiero cambiar. Ayúdame a aprender a estar callado, cuidar de mis asuntos y hacer mi propio trabajo. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
LEAD A QUIET LIFE
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

Today’s scripture is full of good, practical advice. How much more peace could we enjoy if we all would mind our own business and pray instead of judging what we don’t understand or agree with? The apostle Paul affirms the benefits of a quiet life, rather than one filled with strife and turmoil.
How often do we offer our opinion regarding something about which we have no knowledge? Too often, I think! Instead of giving unsolicited opinions and getting involved in situations that don’t concern us, Paul tells us to stay busy with our own hands. We should tend to our own work, and that will keep us busy enough that we will have no time to get involved in unfruitful things that cause turmoil.
When offering our opinions, we often say, “I am just trying to help.” But in order for anyone to receive our help, they must first want it. And most of the time, they don’t want it if they haven’t asked for it. I encourage you to follow the simple guidelines Paul provides in today’s scripture. As you do, you’ll find greater peace and enjoyment in your life.

“Father, I recognize that I often give my opinion when it is not asked for, and I want to change. Help me learn to be quiet, mind my own business, and do my own work. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
