El apóstol Pablo enseña que los líderes no deben ser codiciosos de ganancias o amar tanto el dinero que están dispuestos a comprometerse por obtenerlo. El mundo está observando a quienes se llaman a sí mismos cristianos para ver si cumplimos con lo que decimos que creemos, por lo que debemos tener cuidado de no transigir para obtener lo que queremos.
Si quieres algo, pídeselo a Dios. Si es bueno para ti, entonces en el momento justo y de la manera correcta, él te lo dará. Si comprometes tu moral o valores espirituales para asegurar un ascenso en el trabajo, obtener dinero o ganar ciertas amistades, eventualmente te arrepentirás. Si Dios no quiere que obtengamos lo que queremos, debemos confiar en que él sabe más que nosotros.
Por lo general, encontramos formas de hacer que las cosas sucedan de acuerdo con nuestro plan, pero también encontraremos que haciéndolo, no nos llena como pensamos que lo haría. De hecho, a veces nos hace completamente desdichados. Abraham y Sara no querían esperar por el hijo prometido por Dios, así que encontraron una manera de tener un bebé a través de la sirvienta de Sara si Abraham la hacía su segunda esposa. Ella dio a luz a Ismael, pero este niño trajo solo angustias en lugar de alegrías.
Te animo hoy a tomar la vía de la paz y esperar en Dios para que cumpla los deseos de tu corazón, en lugar de intentar obtenerlos por medios cuestionables.

GREED CAUSES COMPROMISE
Not given to wine, not combative but gentle and considerate, not quarrelsome but forbearing and peaceable, and not a lover of money [insatiable for wealth and ready to obtain it by questionable means]… not greedy for base gain.

The apostle Paul teaches that leaders must not be greedy for gain or love money so much that they are willing to compromise in order to get it. The world is watching those who call themselves Christians to see if we live up to what we say we believe, so we must be careful not to compromise to get what we want.
If you want something, ask God for it. If it is the right thing for you, then at the right time and in the right way, He will give it to you. If you compromise your morals or spiritual values in order to secure a promotion at work, get money, or gain certain friends, you will eventually be sorry. If God doesn’t want us to have what we want, we should trust that He knows better than we do.
We can usually find ways to make things happen according to our own plan, but we will also find that doing so doesn’t fulfill us as we thought it would. In fact, sometimes it makes us downright miserable. Abraham and Sarah didn’t want to wait for God’s promised child, so they found a way to have a baby through Sarah’s handmaid as Abraham’s secondary wife. She gave birth to Ishmael, but he caused heartache instead of bringing joy (Genesis 16–18).
I encourage you today to take the peaceful way and wait on God to give you the desires of your heart instead of trying to obtain them by questionable means.
