¿Por qué me llamáis, Señor, Señor, y no hacéis lo que yo digo?

Para muchas personas, hacer lo que saben que es correcto, es lo único que se interpone entre ellos y unas inmensas victorias en sus vidas. Está bien escuchar un sermón o leer la Biblia, pero si no hacemos lo que aprendemos a hacer, no nos ayuda en un sentido práctico. Ese es el verdadero desafío de ser cristiano. Es fácil poner una calcomanía de una cruz o un pez en tu auto, pero es mucho más difícil comportarnos como debería conducirse un cristiano. Es fácil llevar la Biblia a la oficina, pero la verdadera prueba es tratar a tus compañeros de trabajo como Dios manda.
El conocimiento por sí solo puede llenarnos de orgullo. A pesar de que el conocimiento es bueno, es inútil si no actuamos en consecuencia. Pablo le dijo a los Corintios que el conocimiento envanece, pero el amor edifica (1 Corintios 8:1). Esto significa que el amor edifica y anima a la gente a desarrollarse para ser más como Cristo. Puede que seas el único representante de Cristo que algunas personas conozcan, entonces es importante que lo representes bien.
Hacer lo correcto, con frecuencia nos trae dolor antes de darnos placer. La carne quiere lo que es fácil. Pero si seguimos al Espíritu, siempre vamos a hacer lo correcto no importa qué tan difícil sea, con la certeza de que las bendiciones de Dios van a llegar a su debido tiempo.
Oración:
“Padre, ayúdame a hacer lo correcto. Quiero ser un digno representante de ti y necesito tu ayuda para lograrlo. Perdóname por no comprometerme en el pasado y dame un nuevo comienzo. Gracias. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
THE REAL CHALLENGE OF BEING A CHRISTIAN
Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord,” and do not do what I say?

For many people, doing what they know is right to do is the only thing that stands between them and a tremendous victory in their lives. Listening to a sermon or reading the Bible is good, but if we do not do what we learn to do, it does us no good in practical ways. This is the real challenge of being a Christian. It is easy to put a bumper sticker with a cross or fish on your car, but it is more challenging to behave as a Christian should behave. It is easy to carry your Bible to work, but the real test comes in treating your fellow employees as God instructs.
Knowledge alone can fill us with pride. Although knowledge is good, it is useless if we don’t act on it. Paul told the Corinthians that knowledge puffs one up, but love edifies (1 Corinthians 8:1). This means that love builds up and encourages people to grow into being more like Christ. You may be the only representative of Christ some people know, so it is important that you represent Him well.
Doing what is right often brings pain before it brings pleasure. The flesh wants what is easy. But if we follow the Spirit, we will always do what is right, no matter how hard it is, knowing that God’s blessings will come in due time.
Prayer:
“Father, help me always do the right thing. I want to represent You well, and I need Your help to do it. Forgive me for compromising in the past, and give me a new beginning. Thank You. Amen.”
