Cuando pensamos en Abraham, pensamos que él es el padre de la fe por cómo confió en Dios cuando le aseguró el nacimiento milagroso de su hijo Isaac y luego, por lo dispuesto que estuvo a sacrificarlo cuando Dios se lo pidió (Génesis 15:1-6; 22:1-18). Pero puede que no siempre pensemos en Abraham como un mediador; un hombre que oraría poderosamente por los demás.
Cuando Dios decidió destruir Sodoma y Gomorra por su perversión, él le contó a Abraham. Este tenía una relación tan íntima con Dios, que comenzó a pedirle que perdonara a Sodoma por el bien de los justos. Primero, le pidió que la salvara por cincuenta personas, luego cuarenta y cinco personas y así, hasta que Dios aceptó perdonar a la ciudad por el bien de diez personas justas (Génesis 18:23-32).
Abraham oró con atrevimiento y, gracias a ello, las personas justas escaparon al castigo de Dios. Tú también puedes orar con audacia e interceder por gente y conflictos a tu alrededor, sin dudar de que Dios te escucha.

“Padre, pido por la gente a mi alrededor y por las situaciones de su vida que requieren de tu toque. Te ruego que intervengas, mi Señor, ¡ayúdalos! En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
THE POWER OF INTERCESSION
Abraham approached [the Lord] and said, “Will You really sweep away the righteous (those who do right) with the wicked (those who do evil)?”

When we think of Abraham, we often think of him as the father of faith because of the way he believed God for the miracle birth of his son, Isaac, and then for his willingness to sacrifice Isaac when God asked him to do so (Genesis 15:1–6; 22:1–18). But we may not always think of Abraham as an intercessor—a man who prayed powerfully for other people.
When God decided to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their wickedness, He told Abraham. Abraham had such an intimate relationship with God that he began to ask Him if He would spare the city for the sake of righteous people. First, he asked Him to spare it for fifty, then for forty-five, and on down until God agreed to spare the city for the sake of ten righteous people (Genesis 18:24–32).
Abraham prayed a bold prayer, and because of it, righteous people escaped judgment. You can pray bold prayers too, interceding for the people and situations around you and believing God hears you.
Prayer:
“Father, I pray for the people around me and for the situations in their lives that need Your touch. Intervene, Lord, and help them, I pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
