Esto os mando: Que os améis unos a otros.

El mandamiento de amarnos unos a otros se repite muchas veces a lo largo de la Biblia. Amar a nuestro prójimo, es una de las mejores maneras en que podemos mostrarle al mundo que somos discípulos de Cristo. Una forma en que podemos mostrar amor es a través del perdón, otra, siendo misericordiosos. ¿Hay alguien en tu vida ahora mismo a quien necesitas perdonar? Quizá esa persona te ha tratado injustamente. Perdonarlos puede ser difícil, pero serás capaz de hacerlo por la gracia de Dios.
Se bueno y misericordioso con quienes no lo merecen, pues eso es lo que Dios ha hecho por nosotros a través de Cristo. Nuestro objetivo es llegar a ser como él de todas las formas y él es pronto en perdonar y grande en misericordia.
El amor es mucho más que un sentimiento, es una acción. El amor se ve en cómo escogemos tratar a las personas, incluyendo a las que nos han hecho mal. La Palabra de Dios nos enseña que si nuestro enemigo está hambriento, debemos alimentarlo y si tiene sed, darle algo de beber (Romanos 12:20).
Esto significa que debemos estar dispuestos a satisfacer sus necesidades incluso si sentimos que no merece que las reconozcamos. Haciendo el bien para recibir algo bueno a cambio, no significa nada; pero hacer el bien a aquellos que no lo merecen es precisamente lo que Dios hace.
Oración:
“Padre, quiero amarte como tú amas, y te ruego que me enseñes cómo hacerlo. Ayúdame a ser misericordioso, amable y perdonador, igual que tú. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
LOVE ONE ANOTHER
This is my command: Love each other.

The command to love each other is repeated throughout Scripture. Loving one another is one of the best ways we can show the world that we are Christ’s disciples. One way we can show love is through forgiveness, and another is through showing mercy.
Is there anyone in your life right now who you need to forgive? Perhaps that person has treated you unjustly. Forgiving them may be difficult, but you can do it by God’s grace.
Be merciful and good to those who don’t deserve it, for that is what God has done for us in Christ. Our goal should be to become like Christ in all our ways, and He is quick to forgive and plenteous in mercy.
Love is much more than a feeling; it is action. Love is seen in how we choose to treat people—including people who have wronged us. God’s Word teaches us that if our enemy is hungry, we should feed him, and if he is thirsty, we should give him something to drink (Romans 12:20). This means we should be willing to meet his needs even if we don’t feel he deserves to have them met. Doing good in order to have good come back to us means nothing, but doing good to those who don’t deserve it is doing what God does.
Prayer:
“Father, I want to love as You love, and I ask You to teach me how to do it. Help me to be merciful, kind, and forgiving, just as You are. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
