El mundo está cubierto de sombras, pero la luz absorbe a la oscuridad y la extingue. Jesús es la luz del mundo y hemos sido llamados a dejar que brille a través de nosotros. Una forma en que podemos lograrlo, es comprometiéndonos con la excelencia. La gente excelente siempre da la milla extra y hace todo con gran empeño. No son personas promedio o mediocres; siempre dan lo mejor de sí mismas.
Vemos muy poca excelencia en el mundo hoy en día, pero podemos ser un ejemplo que otros puedan seguir. La Palabra de Dios nos enseña mucho sobre la excelencia. Nos exhorta a ofrecer un discurso exquisito (Proverbios 8:6) y a tener pensamientos impecables (Filipenses 4:8). Nos dice que debemos galardonar las cosas extraordinarias y escoger siempre lo mejor (Filipenses 1:9-10). Daniel fue un excelente siervo de Dios y su compromiso con lo mejor, le ganó ser ascendido por encima de los demás líderes (Daniel 6:3). Luchemos por la excelencia, pues estamos al servicio de un Dios excelente.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

The world is filled with darkness, but light absorbs darkness and puts it out. Jesus is the light of the world, and we are called to let Him shine through us. One way we can do this is to be committed to excellence. Excellent people always go the extra mile and do whatever they do with all their might. They are not average or mediocre; they always do their best.
We see very little excellence in the world today, but we can be an example for others to follow. God’s Word teaches us a great deal about excellence. We are exhorted to maintain excellent speech (Proverbs 8:6) and to think about things that are excellent (Philippians 4:8). We are told to prize the things that are excellent and always choose the best (Philippians 1:9–10). Daniel was an excellent servant of God, and his commitment to excellence gained him a promotion above all the other leaders (Daniel 6:3).
Let us strive for excellence because we serve an excellent God.

“Father, You are most excellent, and I want to let You shine through my life. Help me always choose to be excellent in every way. Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
