¿Alguna vez has visto la Torre de Pisa? Es una de las siete maravillas del mundo medieval. Por siglos ha ido inclinándose al punto de dar la impresión de que caerá en cualquier momento. No me imagino a gente buscando refugio dentro cuando tiene algún problema, porque no aparenta ser muy segura.
Si alguna vez viste la Torre de Londres, sabrás que luce robusta e inexpugnable. De hecho, no es tan solo una sólida torre, también está ubicada dentro de una fortaleza. Sería más razonable pensar que la gente buscaría abrigo allí.
Como creyentes no necesitamos apoyarnos en estructuras terrenales para protegernos o sentirnos seguros. El versículo de hoy dice: “Torre fuerte es el nombre de Jehová”. Cuando enseño con relación al nombre de Jesús, digo que su nombre representa todo lo que él es. Eso significa que todo lo que Dios es —sus atributos, su carácter y su poder— son lugar seguro para nosotros. Si hoy enfrentas un problema o dificultad, corre a su presencia. Es el lugar más seguro que podrás encontrar.
Oración:
“Padre, no busco nada en la tierra que me proteja o me mantenga seguro. Te busco solo a ti. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
A STRONG TOWER
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
—PROVERBS 18:10 NKJV
Have you ever seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa? It’s one of the seven wonders of the medieval world. For centuries, it has leaned to the point that it looks like it will fall over any minute. I can’t imagine it would be a place where people would take refuge during times of trouble, because it does not look safe.
If you have ever seen the Tower of London, you know that it appears sturdy and impregnable. In fact, it’s not only a strong tower; it’s also located within a fortress. The idea that people would flee to that tower for safety seems reasonable.
As believers, we don’t need to rely on earthly structures for safety or security. Today’s scripture says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower.” When I teach on the name of Jesus, I say that His name represents all that He is. This means that everything God is—all of His attributes, His character, and His power—is a secure place for us. If you are facing trouble or difficulty today, run into His presence. It’s the safest place you’ll ever find.
Prayer:
“Father, I don’t look to anything on earth for safety or security. I look to You alone. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
