Guardaos de hacer vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos; de otra manera no tendréis recompensa de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.

Dios está más preocupado en por qué hacemos lo que hacemos, que en lo que hacemos. Dios ve nuestros corazones. Solo las buenas obras realizadas con un corazón puro serán recompensadas. Seguido caemos en la trampa de intentar impresionar a gente que al final no importa, ya que realmente no se preocupa por nosotros y es probable que nos abandone si no vivimos para complacerla. Debemos ponerle atención a lo realmente importante y lo primordial es complacer a Dios, no a otras personas.
Cuidado con hacer buenas obras solo para lucirte, ganar aplausos o ser admirado y bien considerado. Haz buenas obras en obediencia a Dios y para ayudar a los demás porque los amas. Las buenas obras no nos aseguran la entrada al cielo, pero pueden traernos recompensas Divinas si nuestros motivos son puros.
Tómate el tiempo para examinar todo lo que haces. Te animo a ser audaz y a preguntarte por qué haces lo que haces. Conforme tus intenciones se hagan más claras, puedes ir tachando cosas de tu lista y así tendrás más energía para hacer lo que haces con motivos puros.
Oración:
“Padre, gracias por revelarme cualquier motivo impío que pueda tener y ayúdame a hacer lo que hago con un corazón puro. Gracias. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?
Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

God is more concerned with why we do what we do than with what we do. God sees our hearts, and only good works done from a pure heart will bring a reward. We often fall into the trap of trying to impress people who ultimately don’t matter because they don’t truly care for us and will likely abandon us if we don’t live to please them. We need to pay attention to what is really important, and the most important thing is that we please God, not other people.
Beware of doing good works to be noticed, gain applause, or be admired and well thought of. Do your good works in obedience to God and to help others because you love them. Good works cannot get us into heaven, but they can bring us rewards from God when they are done with pure motives.
Take time to examine everything you are doing, and be bold enough to ask yourself why you are doing it. As your motives become clear, you may decide to cross a lot of things off of your to-do list and become more energized to do the things that you are doing with a pure motive.
Prayer:
“Father, thank You for revealing any impure motives I may have, and help me do what I do with a pure heart. Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
