El día que clamé, me respondiste; me fortaleciste con vigor en mi alma.
—SALMO 130:3
En el versículo de hoy, el salmista David dice que Dios lo “fortaleció” cuando él lo llamó, y Dios le respondió.
A lo largo de su vida, David enfrentó situaciones que requerían coraje o atrevimiento. Como pastor, tuvo que ser valiente cuando los leones y los osos atacaron a sus rebaños. Necesitó de gran arrojo para mantenerse firme bajo la enorme sombra del poderoso gigante Goliat, con la intención de matarlo con tan solo una honda. Tuvo valor cuando siendo el rey de Israel, lideró sus ejércitos en feroces combates contra los enemigos del pueblo de Dios.
Puede que no necesites valor del mismo modo que David, pero hoy en día, todos requerimos coraje de alguna manera. Puede que lo necesitemos cuando alguien nos pide hacer algo indebido en el trabajo. Puede que debamos ser valientes si nos vemos obligados, en amor, a decirle la verdad a algún pariente o amigo. O cuando Dios nos pide que demos un salto de fe sin ser capaces de imaginar el resultado.
Sea cual sea tu situación actual, pídele a Dios que te dé el valor que necesitas. Cree que cuando él te responda, te verás grandemente fortalecido.
Oración:
“Padre, dame el valor que quieres que tenga, para que pueda hacer lo que tú deseas. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
GREATLY EMBOLDENED
When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.
—PSALM 138:3
In today’s scripture, the psalmist David notes that God “greatly emboldened” him when he called to Him and God answered.
Throughout his life, David encountered situations in which he needed boldness or courage. He needed it as a shepherd when lions and bears attacked his flocks. He needed it when he stood in the shadow of the mighty giant Goliath, intending to kill him with a slingshot. He needed it as king, when he led the armies of Israel in fierce battles against the enemies of God’s people.
You may not need courage in the same ways that David needed it, but all of us need boldness in certain ways today. We may need it when someone asks us to cheat in some way at our job. We may need it when we must speak the truth in love to a family member or friend. We may need it when God calls us to take a step of faith, and we cannot possibly imagine the outcome.
Whatever your situation is right now, ask God for the courage you need. Believe that when He answers you, you will be greatly emboldened.
Prayer:
“Father, give me the boldness You want me to have, so I may do what You want me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
