La primera condición para recibir guía divina es una vida entregada. Antes de que podamos conocer la voluntad de Dios, primero debemos rendir nuestra propia voluntad. Él promete guiar y enseñar a los mansos (Mateo 11:29). También debemos estar dispuestos a obedecer. No tiene sentido que nos dirija a menos que tengamos intenciones de seguirlo. Puede que no siempre entendamos por qué Dios quiere que hagamos o dejemos de hacer algo, pero debemos confiar en su guía.
A veces, las respuestas que recibimos de nuestras plegarias parecen alejarnos de nuestras expectativas en lugar de acercarnos, pero los caminos de Dios son perfectos. Si su plan es diferente del nuestro, es porque será mejor. A veces sentimos que Dios tarda en proveer lo que desesperadamente sentimos que necesitamos. En esas instancias, debemos recordar que una vida entregada, significa que no es solo a la voluntad de Dios sino también a sus tiempos.
Somos muy privilegiados por vivir bajo la guía divina, pero toma práctica aprender a distinguir correctamente la voz de Dios de la nuestra y la de todos los demás. A menudo aprendemos a través de nuestras equivocaciones, pero Dios redimirá los errores de una persona entregada. Pídele a Dios a diario su guía y prepárate a seguirlo cuando la recibas.

SURRENDERED

The first condition of receiving divine guidance is a surrendered life. Before we can know God’s will, we must first surrender our own will. He promises to guide and to teach those who are meek (Matthew 11:29). We must also be ready to obey. There is no point in His giving us direction unless we intend to follow it. We may not always understand why God wants us to do or not to do a certain thing, but we must trust His guidance.
At times, the answers to our prayers may seem to lead us away from, instead of toward, the direction of our expectation, but God’s ways are perfect. If His plan is different from ours, it will be better. Sometimes, we may feel that God is slow to provide what we desperately feel we need. In those seasons, we should remember that a surrendered life is one that surrenders not only to God’s will, but also to His timing.
We are privileged to live by divine guidance, but learning to properly discern God’s voice from our own and all others takes practice. Often, we learn by making mistakes, but God will redeem even the mistakes of a surrendered person. Ask God daily for His guidance, and be ready to follow it when He gives it.
Prayer:
“Father, I ask that You would guide me in every aspect of my life. Your will be done, not mine. I choose to surrender my entire being to You, and I ask for the grace to follow through with Your will and remain surrendered when it is difficult to do so. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
