Gracias. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
THE POWER OF AN ATTITUDE
Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus.
—PHILIPPIANS 2:5 AMPC
Guideline number one regarding attitude is to maintain the right attitude when the going gets rough. As soon as you sense your attitude losing altitude, make an adjustment. Maintaining the right attitude is easier than regaining it once it has been lost. It is the devil who wants us to have a bad attitude, and we should “withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset]” (1 Peter 5:9 AMPC).
Indicators of a bad attitude include grumbling and complaining, self-pity, pride, criticism, judgment, impatience, lack of gratitude, unkindness, being downcast, harshness, and unforgiveness. There are certainly many others, but this list gives us a few things to ponder.
Your attitude belongs to you. No one can make you have a bad attitude if you don’t want one. Attitude is powerful because it can make a troubled life good and a good life sour. No matter how good people’s lives are, they won’t enjoy it if they are ungrateful and greedy. In the same way, no matter how challenging people’s lives are, they will have joy if they decide to be thankful for what they do have and purpose not to complain. Let’s desire and regularly pray to have the same attitude that Jesus had, as today’s scripture encourages us to do. His attitude was always positive!
Prayer:
“Father, I want always to have a good attitude in every situation, and I need Your help in order to do so. Please help me. Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
