El oro es hermoso y muy valioso. ¿Quién no querría tener algo hecho de oro real? La Regla de Oro también es valiosa, como el oro: condúcete con los demás como quieres que ellos se conduzcan contigo. Este es el tipo de normas que le gustan a Dios. Quiere que trates a los demás como te gustaría que te traten a ti. La razón es bastante clara: a Dios le importa todo el mundo. Él los ama tanto como te ama a ti.
Aquí tienes una pequeña misión para hoy que podríamos denominar «abre una mina para extraer oro». Escribe cinco cosas que te gustaría que tus amigos o familiares hicieran por ti. Tal vez sorprenderte con una salida a comprar helado. Enviarte un enlace a una canción que ellos crean que te gustará. Quizás que te pidan ir al cine una tarde. Luego guarda tu propia lista. Úsala como recordatorio para practicar la «regla de oro» y haz esas cosas para otros.

Señor, hoy quiero buscar oro. Quiero tratar a los demás de la forma que me gustaría ser tratado. ¿Me ayudarás?
Day 358 – The Golden Rule
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Gold is beautiful and very valuable. Who wouldn’t want something made of real gold? The Golden Rule is also valuable, like gold: do unto others what you want them to do to you. That’s the kind of gold God likes. He wants you to treat others the way you want to be treated. The reason is pretty clear: everybody matters to the Lord. He loves them as much as he loves you.
Here’s a little assignment for today that we’ll call “mining for gold.” Write down five things you would love for your friends or family to do for you. Surprise you with a trip to get ice cream, perhaps. Send a link to a song they think you’ll like. Maybe ask you to go to the movies for the afternoon. Then come up with your own list. Use it as a reminder for practicing the “golden rule,” and do those things for others.
Prayer
Lord, I want to look for gold today. I want to treat others the way I like being treated. Will you help me?
