Isaac tenía cuarenta años cuando tomó por mujer a Rebeca, hija de Betuel, el arameo de Padán Aram, y hermana de Labán el arameo.

Rebeca era una mujer valiente. Ayudaba a los extranjeros. Consintió en casarse con un hombre al que no había visto nunca. Se trasladó de su hogar cuando era joven. ¡Eso requería tener agallas! Era generosa, y compartía lo que tenía con otros que necesitaban ayuda. Era hospitalaria, invitaba a su casa a los visitantes que hacían largos viajes y los alimentaba a ellos y a sus animales. Era compasiva y actuó de la forma adecuada cuando se encontró por primera vez con Isaac, que se convertiría en su esposo. Después de casarse, no permanecieron en una ciudad, de modo que tuvo acostumbrarse a empaquetar y trasladarse muchas veces.
Rebeca es el ejemplo de alguien que confió en Dios y que trataba a los demás con amabilidad. Tú también puedes ser ese tipo de persona. No importa cuál sea tu personalidad ni dónde vivas. Cuando tratas a los demás con bondad, otros niños querrán estar cerca de ti. Comportarse bien y ser hospitalario transmite el mensaje de que los demás son importantes y que te fijas en ellos, y así es cómo los ve Dios. Cuando se te conozca por tu amabilidad, estarás mostrando en realidad cómo es Dios. Esta es la clase de niño al que Dios bendice por honrarle.

Señor, ¿qué tipo de persona quieres que yo sea? ¿Cómo puedo tratar mejor a los demás y mostrarles tu amor?
Day 351 – Kind Example
Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram and sister of Laban the Aramean.

Rebekah was a brave woman. She helped strangers. She agreed to marry a man she’d never met. She moved away from home when she was young. That took guts! She was generous, sharing what she had with others who needed help. She was hospitable, inviting visitors from long trips to her home and feeding them and their animals. She was gracious and acted properly when she first met Isaac, who would become her husband. After they married, they didn’t stay in one town, so she had to be comfortable packing up and moving a lot.
Rebekah is an example of someone who trusted God and treated others kindly. You can be that kind of person too. It doesn’t matter what your personality is or where you live. When you treat others with kindness, other kids will want to be around you. Behaving well and being hospitable sends a message that you think other people are important and you notice them—which is how God sees them. When you are known as kind, you actually show what God is like. That’s the kind of kid God blesses for honoring him.

God, what kind of person do you want me to be? How can I treat others better and show them your love?
