No obstante, yo te haré tan terco y obstinado como ellos. ¡Te haré inquebrantable como el diamante, inconmovible como la roca! No les tengas miedo ni te asustes, por más que sean un pueblo rebelde.

¿Cuál es la cosa más dura que has sufrido jamás? ¿Una dolorosa inyección por parte de un doctor? ¿Pedir perdón? ¿Pronunciar un discurso delante de una multitud? ¿Sobrevivir a un viaje de acampada de los scouts con mal tiempo?
A veces Dios puede pedirnos que hagamos cosas difíciles que tal vez no nos parezcan justas. Sin embargo, si el pueblo de Dios no aborda las duras tareas, ¿quién las llevará a cabo?
Dios le dijo a Exequiel que tenía una tarea realmente ardua por hacer. Lo asemejó a estar atascado entre cardos y espinos una y otra vez… ¡qué terrible! O como sentarse sobre un escorpión… ¡ay! El trabajo de Ezequiel iba a ser muy incómodo.
Adivina cómo preparó Dios al profeta. Lo hizo duro como una piedra. Lo convirtió en algo parecido a un superagente impenetrable. Ezequiel pudo asumir la rebeldía de los israelitas. Pudo resistir a sus amenazas y a los intentos de herirlo. Fue transformado para sobrevivir al trabajo tan duro que se le había encomendado.
Por tanto, siéntete alentado. Cualesquiera que sean las dificultades o las duras tareas a las que te enfrentes, espera que Dios te de lo que necesitas para gestionarlas.
Oración
Señor, te ruego que me prepares para hacer aquello que tú me pides, independientemente de lo difícil que sea.
Day 317 – Tough as Nails
But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are. I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.
(EZEKIEL 3:8–9)
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? Get a painful shot from a doctor? Ask for forgiveness? Give a speech in front of a crowd? Survive a scout camping trip in bad weather?
Sometimes God may ask us to do hard things that may not seem fair. But if God’s people don’t tackle the hard jobs, who will do them?
God told Ezekiel that he had a really tough job to do. God likened it to being stuck by thistles and thorns again and again—how terrible! Or like sitting on a scorpion—ouch! Ezekiel’s job was going to be very uncomfortable.
Guess how God prepared Ezekiel. God made Ezekiel as tough as nails. God turned Ezekiel into something like an impenetrable super agent. Ezekiel could take the rebellion of the Israelites. He could withstand their threats and attempts to hurt him. Ezekiel was transformed to survive the toughest assignment.
So, be encouraged. Whatever hardships or tough jobs you face, expect God to give you what you need to handle it.
Prayer
God, please prepare me to do what you ask of me, no matter how hard it is.
