Físicamente, cada uno de nosotros tiene un latido de corazón único. Así como tenemos huellas dactilares, huella ocular y registro de voz, nuestro corazón late según patrones ligeramente distintos. Es asombroso que de todos los millares de millones de personas que han vivido jamás, nadie haya tenido un latido de corazón idéntico al tuyo.
La Biblia usa el término «corazón» para describir el conjunto de deseos, esperanzas, intereses, sueños y otras cosas por el estilo que tienes. Tu corazón representa lo que te encanta hacer y aquello de lo que más te preocupas. Seguimos usando esta palabra del mismo modo cuando declaramos: «Te quiero con todo mi corazón». Este revela cómo eres en realidad. Determina la razón por la que dices lo que dices, por qué te sientes como lo haces y el motivo por el que actúas como lo haces.
Dios nos ha proporcionado a cada uno de nosotros un «latido de corazón» emocional único. Se acelera cuando pensamos en los asuntos, las actividades o las circunstancias que nos interesan. Por regla natural nos preocupamos más por unas cosas y en absoluto por otras. Las personas rara vez sobresalen en las tareas de las que no disfrutan o con las que no se sienten entusiasmados. Dios quiere que uses tus intereses naturales como claves de cómo servirle mejor a él y a los demás. ¿Qué está haciendo latir hoy tu corazón?

¡Vaya, Señor, nos has hecho a cada uno tan únicos! Te ruego que me muestres formas de usar mi «latido de corazón» exclusivo para servirte a ti y a los demás.
Day 281 – Heartbeats
Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.
(PROVERBS 4:23, NASB)
Physically, each of us has a unique heartbeat. Just as we each have unique thumbprints, eye prints, and voice prints, our hearts beat in slightly different patterns. It’s amazing that out of all the billions of people who have ever lived, no one has had a heartbeat exactly like yours.
The Bible uses the term “heart” to describe the bundle of desires, hopes, interests, dreams, and likes you have. Your heart represents what you love to do and what you care about most. We still use the word in this way when we say, “I love you with all my heart.” Your heart reveals the real you. Your heart determines why you say the things you do, why you feel the way you do, and why you act the way you do.
God has given each of us a unique emotional “heartbeat.” It races when we think about the subjects, activities, or circumstances that interest us. We naturally care about some things and not about others. People rarely excel at tasks they don’t enjoy doing or feel passionate about. God wants you to use your natural interests as clues to how you will best serve God and others. What’s your heart beating for?

Wow, God, you’ve made each of us so unique! Will you show me ways to use my unique “heartbeat” to serve you and others?
