Porque [el diablo] es un mentiroso. ¡Es el padre de la mentira!

Satanás es incapaz de decir la verdad. Se le llama «el padre de todas las mentiras». Todo lo que sale de su boca será incierto o solo verdad a medias. Satanás ofrece su mentira para sustituir lo que Dios ya había dicho en su Palabra. Satanás afirma cosas como: «Serás más sabio, como Dios. Puedes salirte con la tuya. Nadie lo va a saber jamás. Resolverá tu problema. Además, todo el mundo hace lo mismo. Es solo es un pecado pequeño». No obstante, un pecado pequeño sigue siendo un pecado que te aparta de Dios.
Ayuda saber que Satanás es totalmente predecible. Ha venido usando la misma estrategia y los viejos trucos desde la creación. Todas sus tentaciones siguen el mismo patrón, el que Satanás usó con Adán y Eva, y también con Jesús. Satanás intenta hacerte dudar de lo que Dios ha dicho sobre el pecado: «¿Será realmente malo? ¿De verdad advirtió Dios que no lo hiciéramos? ¿No será que Dios pretendía que esto fuera vigente para otras personas o para otro tiempo? ¿Acaso Dios no quiere que yo sea feliz?». ¡Cuidado! No permitas que las dudas te aparten del Dios vivo. Mantén tus ojos y tu mente fijos en Dios. Su verdad te ayudará a detectar las mentiras de Satanás en todo momento.
Oración
Señor, las mentiras de Satanás me llevan lejos de ti con demasiada facilidad. Quiero oír tu voz y escuchar tu verdad. Cuando dude, hazme acudir a tu Palabra.
Day 252 • Beware of the Liar
Not only is [the Devil] a liar himself, but he is also the father of all lies.
(JOHN 8:44, CEV)
Satan cannot tell the truth. He is called “the father of all lies.” Anything he tells you will be untrue or just half-true. Satan offers his lie to replace what God has already said in his Word. Satan says things like, “You’ll be wiser like God. You can get away with it. No one will ever know. It will solve your problem. Besides, everyone else is doing it. It is only a little sin.” But a little sin is still a sin that separates you from God.
It helps to know that Satan is entirely predictable. He has used the same strategy and old tricks since Creation. All temptations follow the same pattern, which Satan used on Adam and Eve and also on Jesus. Satan tries to get you to doubt what God has said about the sin: “Is it really wrong? Did God really say not to do it? Didn’t God mean this rule for someone else or some other time? Doesn’t God want me to be happy?” Watch out! Don’t let doubts make you turn away from the living God. Keep your eyes and mind on God. His truth will help you spot Satan’s lies every time.
Prayer
God, Satan’s lies steer me away from you so easily. I want to listen to your voice and hear your truth. When I doubt, turn me toward your Word.
