Y todo lo que hagan, de palabra o de obra, háganlo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios el Padre por medio de él.

¿Has empezado a pensar en actividades que te gustaría realizar en el instituto? ¿O incluso qué te gustaría ser de mayor? Tal vez te guste la astronomía y quieras ir un día al campamento espacial. Tal vez disfrutes ayudando en la cocina y pensando que sería genial convertirte en chef. Es fantástico orar por sueños de este tipo. Dios pone algunos sueños en tu corazón que te guíen a los planes que él tiene para ti. ¿Pero sabes qué es más importante para él? Tu carácter.
Nos preocupamos cuando Dios parece callar sobre preguntas específicas como «¿Qué debería hacer este verano?» o «¿En qué debería inscribirme para después de la escuela?», o «¿Qué deporte debería probar?». La verdad es que existen numerosas actividades que podrían ser la voluntad de Dios para tu vida. Sin embargo, a él le interesa mucho más lo que eres que lo que dices. Somos seres humanos, no hacedores humanos. Dios está mucho más preocupado por tu carácter. Y esta es la razón: solo te llevas tu carácter a la eternidad; todo lo demás queda atrás.
Oración
Gracias, Señor, por interesarte en los pequeños detalles de mi vida. Aunque es importante pensar en lo que quiero hacer y ser, también quieres que sea una persona de carácter. Ayúdame a ser como Jesús.
Day 212 • Dreaming Big
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Have you started thinking about activities you want to do in high school? Or even what you want to be when you grow up? Maybe you really like astronomy and want to go to space camp one day. Maybe you enjoy helping out in the kitchen and think it’d be cool to become a chef. It’s great to pray about dreams like that. God puts some dreams in your heart to lead you into his plans for you. But do you know what’s even more important to God? Your character.
We worry when God seems silent on specific questions such as “What should I do over the summer?” or “What should I sign up for after school?” or “Which sport should I try out for?” The truth is, there are many activities that could be in God’s will for your life. But he’s far more interested in what you are than in what you do. We are human beings, not human doings. God is much more concerned about your character. Here’s why: you only take your character into eternity; everything else stays behind.
Prayer
Thank you, God, for caring about the little details of my life. Although it’s important to think about what I want to do and be, you also want me to be a person of character. Help me to be like Jesus.
