Para que vivan de manera digna del Señor, agradándole en todo. Esto implica dar fruto en toda buena obra, crecer en el conocimiento de Dios.

¿Has comido alguna vez tomates gaseados? Son los que se compran en el supermercado. Si los agricultores recolectaran los tomates maduros y los enviara, se aplastarían de camino al mercado. Así que los recogen verdes y pulverizan dióxido de carbono sobre ellos justo antes de que salgan para los puntos de venta. Ese gas madura los tomates verdes que adquieren con rapidez el color rojo. Estos tomates no tienen nada malo. Sin embargo, si alguna vez has comido un tomate recién arrancado de un huerto, no hay comparación. El fruto necesita su tiempo para madurar, en la planta o en tu vida.
Dios requiere tiempo para hacer madurar el fruto espiritual en tu vida. Inicia el proceso diciéndole a Dios que quieres ser un cristiano productivo, lleno de fruto. Comprométete a leer, estudiar y memorizar la Biblia. Pídele a Dios que cambie tu forma de pensar. Ora y habla con él de todo. Solicita su ayuda para responder como lo haría Jesús a las personas difíciles y en las situaciones desagradables. Dios quiere producir el fruto del Espíritu en tu vida. ¿Lo dejarás madurar?
Oración
Señor, quiero ser un seguidor más firme de Cristo. Ayúdame a hablarte de todo lo que sucede en mi vida y a crecer. Quiero ser un seguidor que lleve fruto.
Day 209 – Ripe Fruit
Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
(COLOSSIANS 1:10, NASB)
Have you ever eaten gassed tomatoes? That is what you purchase at the grocery store. If farmers picked ripe tomatoes and shipped them, they would get smashed on the way to market. So the farmers pick tomatoes green and spray carbon dioxide on them just before they go to market. That gas ripens green tomatoes into red very quickly. Now, there is nothing wrong with those tomatoes. But if you have ever eaten a tomato straight from a garden, there is no comparison. It takes time for fruit to ripen—on the vine or in your life.
God needs time to ripen the spiritual fruit in your life. Begin the process by telling God you want to be a productive, fruitful Christian. Commit yourself to reading, studying, and memorizing the Bible. Ask God to change the way you think. Pray and talk with him about everything. Ask him to help you respond to difficult people and unpleasant situations as Jesus would. God wants to produce the fruit of the Spirit in your life. Will you let it ripen?
Prayer
God, I want to be a stronger follower of Christ. Help me talk to you about everything happening in my life and grow. I want to be a fruitful follower.
