Jesús le contestó: Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida; nadie puede ir al Padre si no es por medio de mí.
(JUAN 14.6, NTV)
Durante la vida de Jesús les mostró a las personas cómo amarse unos a otros de verdad, incluso a sus enemigos. Era pacífico, amable, generoso y afectuoso. Sin embargo, a lo largo de la historia han existido numerosos hombres y mujeres famosos a los que se ha considerado pacíficos. Así pues, ¿era Jesús diferente a Buda, Confucio, Gandhi, Mahoma u otras figuras religiosas?
Muchos responden que no, que solo fue otro buen maestro. Pero lee de nuevo el versículo que figura aquí arriba sobre lo que Jesús tenía que decir.
¿Lo has entendido? Jesús no declaró: «Hay muchos caminos que llevan al Padre, siempre y cuando seas una buena persona». No; ¡él afirmó ser el único camino y que nadie podía tener vida eterna sin él!
En el mundo actual es sumamente popular tratar la fe como la fila en un restaurante bufé. «Oye, me gusta esta parte del cristianismo, así que lo tomo, pero esta otra cosa no; la voy a sustituir por un poco de esta religión de aquí». Esta forma de pensar no la acepta Jesús.
Como el Dios de todo o nada, no se conforma con la mitad de tu corazón. ¡Lo quiere entero! Las personas que afirman que Jesús fue un buen maestro tienen razón. Así que escucha lo que él dice: encuentra tu camino a Dios por medio de él.
Oración
Jesús, gracias por ser el camino, la verdad y la vida. No te asustan mis preguntas sobre ti y la Biblia, de modo que las traigo ante ti ahora, sabiendo que eres fiel para responderlas todas.
Day 206 • The Way
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (JOHN 14:6)
During Jesus’ life, he showed people how to really love each other—even their enemies. He was peaceful, kind, selfless, and caring. But lots of famous men and women throughout history have been considered peaceful. So was Jesus any different than Buddha, Confucius, Gandhi, Muhammad, or other religious figures?
Many people say “no,” that Jesus was just another good teacher. But read the verse above again about what Jesus had to say.
Did you catch that? Jesus didn’t say, “There are lots of ways to the Father, as long as you’re a good person.” No—he said he was the only way and that no one could have eternal life without him!
In today’s world, it’s popular to treat faith like a restaurant buffet line. “Hmm, I like that part about Christianity, so I’ll take that, but I don’t like that other thing, so I’ll replace it with a little bit of this religion instead.” That line won’t fly with Jesus.
As an all-or-nothing kind of God, he doesn’t want half of your heart. He wants it all! People who say Jesus was a good teacher are right. So listen to what he says—find your way to God through him.
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for being the way and the truth and the life. You aren’t afraid of my questions about you and the Bible, so I bring them to you now, knowing you are faithful to answer all of them.
