¿Tan necios sois? ¿Habiendo comenzado por el Espíritu, ahora vais a acabar por la carne?

Nuestro amor por Jesús nos motiva a ser todo lo que quiere que seamos. Por ese motivo, a veces caemos en la trampa de intentar cambiar con nosotros mismos, en lugar de confiar en que él nos cambie. Pasé muchos frustrantes años luchando en “mi carne”: usando mi fuerza, habilidades, brío y esfuerzo sin la ayuda de Dios, intentando hacer lo que solo él podía. No hay duda de que todos debemos cambiar y ser más y más como Jesús. Esto ocurre paulatinamente, mientras estudiamos su Palabra y comulgamos con él.
Dios te ha llamado a su lado, y solo él puede completar con su Espíritu, lo que él comenzó en el Espíritu. Él es el autor y consumador de la fe y de toda la obra que debe realizarse en ti (Hebreos 12:2).
Dile a Jesús tus deseos y luego apóyate en él para que ocurran. No te frustres si aun no eres todo lo que quisieras ser. Dios se encontrará contigo donde estás y te ayudará a llegar a donde necesitas estar.
Oración:
“Padre, deseo corregirme y ser más como Jesús, pero no puedo cambiarme a mí mismo. Te pido que me cambies, esperando que obres lo que solo tú puedes hacer. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
HOW CAN I CHANGE?
Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh?

Our love for Jesus makes us want to be everything He wants us to be. Because of that, we often fall into the trap of trying to change ourselves rather than trusting God to change us. I spent many frustrating years, striving in my flesh (my own strength, ability, energy, and effort without God), to do what only He could do in me.
No doubt, all of us need to change and become more and more like Jesus. This will happen little by little as we study His Word and fellowship with Him.
God has called you to Himself, and only He can complete by His Spirit what He begins in the Spirit. He is the Author and the Finisher of your faith and of all the work that needs to be done in you (Hebrews 12:2).
Tell Jesus your desire, and then lean on Him to bring it to pass. Don’t be frustrated with yourself because you are not all that you want to be. God will meet you where you are and help you get to where you need to be.
Prayer:
“Father, I desire to change and be more and more like Jesus, but I can’t change myself. I ask You to change me, and I wait on You to do what only You can do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
