Una de las mejores formas para determinar si verdaderamente amamos a Dios sobre todas las cosas es observar cómo reaccionamos cuando perdemos algo. Las cosas vienen y van, y debemos aprender a disfrutar de ellas cuando las tenemos y aun así no enojarnos cuando ya no están.
El primer mandamiento que Dios le dio a Moisés, cuando habló con él luego de sacar a los israelitas de Egipto, fue que ellos no debían tener otros dioses delante de él (Éxodos 20:3). Este mandamiento sigue vigente hoy, recordarlo es lo más importante de nuestras vidas. Nada funciona bien para nosotros, si Dios no está primero. Mateo 6:33 dice que debemos buscar primero el Reino de Dios y todas lo demás vendrá por añadidura.
Salmos 37:4 promete: “Deléitate asimismo en Jehová, y él te concederá las peticiones de tu corazón”.
Oración:
Padre, quiero que seas lo primero en mi vida, por eso te pido que me muestres cuando permita que cualquier cosa sea más importante para mí que tú. Gracias. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
LOVE NOTHING MORE THAN GOD
Therefore, my dearly beloved, shun (keep clear away from, avoid by flight if need be) any sort of idolatry (of loving or venerating anything more than God).

One of the best ways to determine whether or not we truly love God more than anything else is to watch how we behave when we lose something. Things in life come and go, and we must learn to enjoy them while we have them, yet not be upset if and when they are gone.
The first command that God gave Moses when He spoke to him after bringing the Israelites out of Egypt was that they were to have no other gods before Him (Exodus 20:3). This command is still in effect today, and remembering it is most important in our lives. Nothing works right for us if God does not come first. As Matthew 6:33 says, we are to seek first the Kingdom of God, and then all other things will be added to us.
Psalm 37:4 promises: “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart” (NKJV).
Prayer:
“Father, I want to keep You first in my life, and I ask You to show me whenever I let something become more important to me than You are. Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
