PATIENCE, PLEASE

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.
—ECCLESIASTES 7:8

Patient people are happy people because they are able to fully enjoy the present without trying to rush into the future. Those who possess patience are satisfied to know things as they unfold in their proper timing. Being patient eliminates a lot of stress from our lives, while being anxious adds stress.

Good things almost always take time to develop. Things that arise quickly are often fragile and don’t last long, but those that develop slowly are more solid and enduring. In our greedy quest for more and more, we often sacrifice quality for quantity. Producing a quality product or doing a quality job takes time and patience, whereas something that looks good but won’t last long can be done quickly.

The only way we can enjoy every moment that God gives us is to be patient. Don’t rush through the moments in your life, because if you do, you will miss some very important things. Sometimes missing a small detail can cause a big problem. Rushing through a project is often useless, because it ends up taking more time than we planned. Then, we have to fix the problems that hurry created. As the saying goes, “Haste makes waste.”

Prayer:
“Father, help me learn to live in the moment and thoroughly enjoy it rather than rushing through life and being impatient. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
