Los primeros cristianos vivieron bajo constante amenaza de persecución y muerte, debido a su compromiso de seguir a Jesús. Vivieron en una época de intenso miedo y con frecuencia necesitaron ser estimulados a mantener la fe y no darse por vencidos. Timoteo enfrentó algo similar en su andar junto a Dios, cuando Pablo le dijo que avivara su fe y abanicara la llama que alguna vez brilló con fuerza dentro de él (2 Timoteo 1:6). Si mantenemos nuestra fe fuerte a través del uso, seremos fuertes cuando tentaciones y pruebas se atraviesen en nuestro camino.
No esperes a tener problemas para hacerte fuerte, en cambio, fortalécete en el Señor en todo momento. Disfruta estar en comunión con él regularmente, estudia su Palabra y pasa tiempo con otros cristianos que puedan desarrollar tu fe, en lugar de incrédulos que te abaten con su falta de fe. Si alguna vez la fe fue una llama viva en ti, pero ahora es apenas una brasa, no lo retrases más y avívate. Recuérdate lo que Jesús ha hecho por ti y de las oportunidades que te ha dado para servirle. Recuerda qué gran privilegio es la oración y habla con Dios sobre lo que sea que te preocupe. Pídele lo que quieras y necesites y espera que él haga grandes cosas por ti y a través de ti.
Oración:
“Padre, quiero siempre arder interiormente con fe y amor por ti y por tu obra en la tierra. Cada vez que mi fe empiece a debilitarse, te ruego que me fortalezcas y me recuerdes avivarla, rememorando lo bueno y grande que eres. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
STIR UP YOUR FAITH
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

The early Christians lived under constant threat of persecution and death due to their commitment to follow Jesus. They lived in times of intense fear and often needed to be encouraged to keep the faith and not give up.
Timothy was facing a time like this in his walk with God when Paul told him to stir up his faith and fan the flame that once burned brightly in him (2 Timothy 1:6). If we keep our faith strong through use, we will be strong when trials and temptations come our way.
Don’t wait until you have trouble to get strong, but instead stay strong in the Lord at all times. Enjoy regular fellowship with Him, study His Word, and spend time with other Christians who can build you up in faith instead of with unbelievers who tear you down through their lack of faith.
If faith was once a burning fire in you, but has now become a mere ember, don’t delay in stirring yourself up. Remind yourself of what Jesus has done for you and of the opportunities He has given you to serve Him. Remember what a privilege prayer is, and talk with God about anything that concerns you. Ask for what you need and want, and expect Him to do great things for you and through you.
Prayer:
“Father, I want always to burn inwardly with faith and love for You and for Your work on the earth. Anytime I start to weaken in faith, I ask You to strengthen me and remind me to stir myself up by remembering how good and how great You are. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
