¡La bondad es algo maravilloso! Cuando somos bondadosos, somos generosos, amigables y considerados. Las personas bondadosas son así con todos, no solo con quienes aman y admiran. De hecho, los pequeños actos de bondad son lo más beneficiosos. Ser bondadoso con un amigo o miembro de nuestra familia es esperable, pero ser bondadoso con un extraño es aún mejor. Un acto de bondad puede ser el gesto que toque e incluso cambie y suavice el corazón de una persona.
Recuerdo haber sido amable con una extraña en una cafetería. Luego ella me vio en otro lugar y me dijo: “¿por qué eres la persona más amable que he conocido?”. Ella me dio la oportunidad de testificarle sobre Jesús y fue muy receptiva al mensaje. Como hijos de Dios, somos sus representantes en esta tierra, y nos ha dado la tarea de mostrarle al mundo cómo es él. Es fácil ser dura y áspera, especialmente cuando la gente comete errores o nos enoja, pero la bondad es un rasgo piadoso que va más allá de nuestras tendencias y sentimientos naturales. Te insto a ser amable con todos. Sé generoso, amigable y considerado. Trata a los otros como quieres ser tratado.
Oración:
“Padre, quiero ser bondadoso igual que tú. Ayúdame a desarrollar este fruto del Espíritu Santo dándome oportunidades para mostrar amabilidad en vez de rudeza. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”..
LOVE IS KIND
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
—COLOSSIANS 3:12
Kindness is wonderful! When we are kind, we are generous, friendly, and considerate. People who are kind are kind to everyone, not just those they love and admire. In fact, random acts of kindness are some of the most beneficial. Being kind to a friend or family member might be expected, but being kind to a stranger is even better. An act of kindness may be the very gesture that touches and even changes and softens that person’s heart.
I recall showing kindness to a stranger in a coffee shop. She later saw me somewhere else and said, “Why are you the kindest person I have ever met?” It gave me an opportunity to witness to her about Jesus, and she was receptive to the idea. As children of God, we are His representatives on the earth, and He has given us the assignment of showing the world what He is like.
It is easy to be hard-hearted and harsh, especially when people make mistakes or anger us, but kindness is a godly trait that goes beyond our natural tendencies and feelings. I urge you to be kind to everyone. Be generous, friendly, and considerate. Treat other people as you want to be treated.
Prayer:
“Father, I want to be kind as You are kind. Help me develop this fruit of the Spirit by giving me opportunities to show kindness instead of harshness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
