Separados de mí nada podéis hacer.
—JUAN 15:5
Nos desgastamos intentando hacer cosas que solo Dios puede hacer o que solo él puede ayudarnos a hacer. Necesitamos de su fortaleza en todo momento y quienes esperan en él (quienes pasan tiempo con Él) renuevan su fuerza (Isaías 40:31). Te insto a que cada mañana te tomes el tiempo necesario para decirle a Dios que estás indefenso sin él y que quieres que esté involucrado en cada cosa que hagas.
Los niños pequeños están felices de permitir a sus padres u otras personas hacer todo por ellos, pero eventualmente crecen y quieren hacer cosas por su cuenta, incluso las que nunca lograrían realizar. Esto es todo parte del crecimiento y no debería ser desalentado, pero podríamos establecer un paralelo con este ejemplo y preguntarnos: “¿qué estoy intentando hacer por mi cuenta que no puedo sin la ayuda de Jesús?”.
Nuestra desilusión viene del forcejeo con cosas que queremos que ocurran y que no importa lo que hagamos, se mantienen iguales. La frustración y el sobre esfuerzo deberían ser señales de que estamos actuando fuera de la voluntad Divina. Puede que queramos algo que no es su deseo, o puede que tratemos de obtenerlo en nuestro tiempo o a nuestra manera. Esto es una receta para el sufrimiento. Quizá hoy sea el día que te abandones por completo a Dios y comprendas que, si él no te ayuda, vas a fallar en todo lo que trates de hacer. Pero si te rindes y permites que sea tu ayudante, te sorprenderás de las cosas que puede hacer y la paz que traerá a tu vida.
Oración:
“Padre, no quiero nunca más sentirme frustrado por intentar vivir sin invitarte a todo lo que hago. Me arrepiento de las veces que te ignoré y hoy me rindo por completo a su Señoría. Espero en ti por fortaleza y apoyo. Gracias. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
I CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU
Apart from me you can do nothing. —JOHN 15:5
We wear ourselves out trying to do things that only God can do, or that only He can help us do. We need His strength at all times, and those who wait on Him (who spend time with Him) have their strength renewed (Isaiah 40:31). I urge you to take time each morning to tell God that you are helpless without Him and that you want Him involved in everything you do.
Little children are happy to let their parents and other people do everything for them, but eventually they grow and want to do things by themselves, even things they can’t possibly do. This is all part of growing up and should not be discouraged, but we can draw a parallel from this example and ask ourselves, “What am I trying to do by myself that I can’t do without Jesus?”
Our frustration comes from struggling with things that we want to happen, yet no matter what we do, they stay the same. Frustration and struggle should be a sign that we are out of God’s will. We may want something that isn’t His will, or we may be trying to get it in our timing or in our own way. This is a recipe for misery. Perhaps today is your day to fully surrender to God and realize that if He doesn’t help you, you will fail at everything you try to do. But if you surrender and allow Him to be your Helper, you will be amazed at what He will do and how much peace He brings to your life.
Prayer:
“Father, I don’t want to be frustrated anymore because I try to live without inviting You into everything I do. I repent for the times I have ignored You, and today I surrender fully to Your Lordship. I wait on You for strength and help. Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
