Y él me dijo: «El Dios de nuestros padres te ha escogido para que conozcas su voluntad, y veas al Justo y escuches de sus propios labios su palabra, pues tú serás su testigo ante todo el mundo de esto que has visto y oído».

¡Para que hablen de un cambio de corazón! La conversión de Pablo a Cristo es alucinante: pasó de ser alguien que odiaba a los cristianos a ser un héroe cristiano. Solía buscar a los seguidores de Cristo para encarcelarlos o matarlos. Después se convirtió en una persona buscada por Jesús mismo. Este le dijo que había sido escogido para conocer la voluntad de Dios así como verle y oírle.
Sin embargo, Pablo no fue el único al que Jesús escogió. Nos ha elegido a todos nosotros para que conozcamos y experimentemos lo mismo que el apóstol. Al leer la Biblia tenemos acceso a las palabras de Dios y llegamos a conocer también a su Hijo.
El otro mensaje importante que Jesús comparte con Pablo es que será testigo para los demás de cómo Dios ha cambiado su vida. ¡Qué importante misión contarle a otros su encuentro con Dios! Y fue esto precisamente lo que hizo. Viajó centenares de kilómetros y durante muchos años, compartiendo la historia divina de salvación a partir de su propia experiencia.
El Señor nos ha hecho el mismo encargo a nosotros. También somos sus testigos. Sencillamente hablamos de lo que hemos experimentado y aprendido sobre Dios. A continuación, él empieza a obrar a partir de ahí.
Oración
Señor, gracias por escogerme para conocer tu voluntad y permitir que los demás sepan de tus planes para el mundo. Resulta emocionante ser tu embajador.
Day 335 – Unlikely Missionary
Then he said: “The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.”
(ACTS 22:14–15)
Talk about a change of heart. Paul’s conversion to Christ is mind-boggling—from a Christian hater to a Christian hero. Paul used to hunt down Christians to put them in jail or kill them. Then Paul becomes the one person hunted down by Jesus himself. Jesus tells Paul that he has been chosen to know God’s will and to see and hear him.
But Paul wasn’t the only one Jesus chose. Jesus has chosen all of us to know and experience the very same thing. By reading the Bible, we have access to God’s words, and we get to know his Son too.
The other Important message Jesus shares with Paul is that he will be a witness to others of how God has changed his life. What an important assignment—telling others about his meeting with God. Paul did that very thing. He traveled for hundreds of miles and many years sharing God’s story of salvation from his own experience.
The Lord has given us the same assignment. We are his witnesses too. We simply tell what we have experienced and learned about God. Then God takes it from there.
Prayer
Lord, thanks for choosing me to know your will and to let others in on your plans for the world. It’s exciting to be your ambassador.
