Imagina que estás jugando una guerra de bolas de nieve con los vecinos. Tu misión consiste en tomar su fantástico fuerte de nieve. Te asomas a la vuelta de la esquina de la casa y ves a varios jugadores armados de municiones de hielo. ¿Cuál es tu siguiente movimiento?
Probablemente, lo último que harías es extender de forma casual una vieja manta y dejarte caer para tomar un tentempié. Pues así exactamente es como David veía su relación con Dios.
Como monarca rico y poderoso, David tenía también muchos enemigos políticos. Era, asimismo, el cabeza de una familia de chiflados; su propio hijo, por ejemplo, intentó matarlo y ocupar su trono sobre el país. ¡Solo con esto es suficiente para estresar a alguien!
La relación de David con Dios le proporcionaba el alivio que tanto necesitaba. Al pasar tiempo en oración, adoración y leyendo la Palabra de Dios, podía recibir fuerza y seguridad de parte del ser más poderoso del universo.
Tú puedes ser como David. Pídele al Señor fuerza y consuelo. Gustoso, él te socorrerá y te dará paz en cualquier momento. ¿Te ves rodeado de tus enemigos? No temas. Siéntate con Dios y disfruta de un picnic en mitad de una pelea de bolas de nieve.
Oración
Señor, gracias por recordarme que siempre estás disponible, incluso en mitad de una situación difícil. Ayúdame a centrarme en ti y no en mis problemas, y dame tu paz.
Day 322 – Mid-Combat Picnic
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
(PSALM 23:4−5)
Imagine you’re having a snowball fight with the neighbors. Your mission: to secretly take over their super-cool snow fort. Peering around the corner of the house, you see several players armed with icy ammo. What’s your next move?
Probably the last thing you’d do is casually spread an old blanket, and plop down for a snack. Yet that’s exactly how David viewed his relationship with God.
As a rich and powerful king, David had many political enemies. He also was the head of a nutty family; his own son, for example, tried to kill him and take over the country. That’s enough to stress anyone out!
David’s relationship with God provided some much-need relief. Because David spent time in prayer, worship, and reading God’s Word, he could receive strength and security from the most powerful being in the universe.
You can be like David. Ask for strength and comfort from the Lord. He gladly gives us relief and peace anytime at all. Are you surrounded by your enemies? Don’t fear. Instead, sit down with God for a mid-snowball fight picnic.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for reminding me you are always available, even in the middle of a tough situation. Help me to focus on you instead of my problems, and give me your peace.
