¿Cómo sabes cuándo estás sirviendo a Dios desde el fondo de tu corazón?
Algunas cosas despiertan tu interés y captan tu atención, mientras que otras te desinteresan o te aburren inmensamente. Estas revelan la naturaleza de tu corazón. Escuchar lo que este guarda puede indicarte las formas en que Dios pretende que lo sirvas.
La primera señal es el entusiasmo. Cuando estás haciendo lo que te gusta, nadie tiene que motivarte, desafiarte ni comprobar que lo realizas. Lo haces por la diversión o por amor a ello. No necesitas recompensas ni aplausos. Por otra parte, cuando no te apetece lo que estás haciendo, es fácil desalentarse.
La segunda señal de servir a Dios con todo el corazón es que seas también eficaz. Cuando haces aquello que Dios quiso que te gustara hacer cuando te creó, esto acaba dándosete bien. Si la tarea no te interesa, probablemente no sobresaldrás en ella. A medida que te vayas haciendo mayor, aprenderás más sobre las cualidades que Dios te ha transmitido. Deja que él guíe tu corazón y que este dirija tu vida.
Oración
Señor, tú quieres que yo te sirva con todo mi corazón. Revélame cuál fue tu propósito para mí cuando me creaste. Muéstrame los lugares donde te pueda servir con mayor eficacia y entusiasmo.
Day 291 – Love What You Do
Do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart.
(1 SAMUEL 12:20, ESV)
How do you know when you are serving God from your heart? Some things turn you on and capture your attention while others turn you off or bore you to tears. These reveal the nature of your heart. Listening to what’s in your heart can point to the ways God intends for you serve him.
The first sign is enthusiasm. When you are doing what you love to do, no one has to motivate or challenge or check up on you. You do it for the fun or love of it. You don’t need rewards or applause. On the other hand, when you don’t have a heart for what you’re doing, you are easily discouraged.
The second sign of serving God from your heart is that you’re also effective. Whenever you do what God wired you to love doing, you get good at it. If you don’t care about a task, you probably won’t excel at it. As you grow up, you’ll learn more about the ways God has wired you. Let him guide your heart, and your heart will guide your life.
Prayer
God, you want me to serve you with all my heart. Reveal to me who you created me to be. Show me places where I can serve you effectively and enthusiastically.
