Dichoso el que piensa en el débil; el SEÑOR lo librará en el día de la desgracia.

Cuando oyes el término «necesidades especiales», ¿qué te viene a la mente? ¿El niño en silla de ruedas que ves en el pasillo de la escuela? ¿El vecino que lleva un cartel azul de minusválido colgando del retrovisor de su auto? ¿La señora que viene a la iglesia con su perro guía? Tal vez pienses en alguien de tu familia que padece autismo o síndrome de Down.
El Señor protégé a los niños y los adultos que se enfrentan este tipo de problemas. Comprende lo difícil que les resulta apañárselas. Por ello, promete bendecirnos cuando ayudemos a los que son débiles o discapacitados. Nos observa cuando nos desviamos de nuestro camino para ser bondadosos. Él escucha cuando reprendemos a otros que se burlan de alguna persona con discapacidad.
Una de las formas en que el Señor bendice a los que están al tanto del débil es cuidándonos cuando somos débiles. ¿Lo has entendido? Es posible que no sufras una discapacidad física o mental, pero muchas veces te sentirás abrumado y débil en tu vida. Y en esas ocasiones, el Señor te proporcionará la fuerza y las personas necesarias para poder salir de esa difícil situación.

Señor, dame un corazón tierno por esas personas que veo y que tienen necesidades especiales. Quiero amarlas y tratarlas bien.
Day 287 – Caring for the Weak
Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the LORD delivers them in times of trouble.
(PSALM 41:1)
When you hear the term “special needs,” who comes to mind? That kid in the wheelchair you see in the hall at school? A neighbor who has a blue disability sign hanging from the mirror in his car? That lady who comes to church with her guide dog? Maybe you think of someone in your family who has autism or Down syndrome.
The Lord is very protective of kids and grown-ups who deal with these kinds of problems. He understands how tough it is for them to get by. That’s why the Lord promises to bless us when we help out those who are weak or handicapped. He watches us when we go out of our way to be kind. He hears when we stop others from making fun of someone with a disability.
One of the ways the Lord blesses those who look out for the weak is to take care of us when we are weak. Did you get that? You may not have a physical or mental disability, but you will feel overwhelmed and weak many times in your life. And at times like that, the Lord will give you the strength and the people you need to make it through that tough situation.
So, whom will you befriend today?
Prayer
Lord, give me a tender heart for those people I see who have special needs. I want to love them and treat them well.
