Seguir a Jesús es más difícil de lo que podamos pensar. No es como ser un aficionado de nuestro equipo deportivo favorito ni como aclamar al héroe de una película de aventuras. Cuando le decimos «sí» a Jesús, nos entramos en una especie de vía secundaria.
En ocasiones el desafío consiste en pequeñas cosas: prestar atención a papá y mamá, ayudar a un compañero de clase cuando está atascado en un problema de matemáticas o ser amable con los hermanos. Otras veces Dios te llamará a unas acciones mayores: defender a alguien más joven o más débil, renunciar a algo que te gusta de verdad en beneficio de alguien que lo necesita o incluso ponerte en contra de tus amigos cuando ellos quieran hacer algo que está mal.
Afortunadamente, cuando llega la hora de tomar esas decisiones enérgicas no estás solo. Jesús, el Hijo de Dios, está siempre ahí para ti. Y tus amigos cristianos así como tu familia están también en el mismo equipo que tú.
Jesús nos pide que lo sigamos y nos avisa de que no va a ser fácil; no obstante, promete que merecerá la pena. Brillaremos como el sol en el Reino de Dios. Además, formar parte de su plan es muchísimo mejor que animar en un emocionante juego deportivo desde la banda o ver una apasionante película. Y es que este es el balance final: Jesús gana. Y al emprender nosotros acción con él, también somos ganadores.
Oración
Señor, gracias por invitarme a formar parte de tu plan de acción aquí en la tierra. Ayúdame a hacer mi parte. ¡Juntos ganamos!
Day 286 – Part of the Team
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil … Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Following Jesus is tougher than we think. It’s not like following our favorite sports team or cheering on the hero from an adventure movie. When we say “yes” to Jesus, it’s not a sideline type of thing.
Sometimes the challenge is all about the little things: listening to Mom and Dad, helping out a classmate when he’s stuck on a tough math problem, or being nice to siblings. Other times God will call you to bigger actions: sticking up for someone younger or weaker, giving away something you really like to someone who needs it, or even standing against your friends when they want to do something wrong.
Thankfully, in those high-pressure decisions, you’re not alone. Jesus, God’s Son, is always there for you. And your Christian friends and family are on the same team too.
Jesus asks us to follow him and tells us it won’t be easy, but he promises that it will be worth it. We will shine like the sun in God’s Kingdom. And being part of his plan is way better than cheering an exciting sports game from the sideline or watching a thrilling movie. Because bottom line? Jesus wins. And as we take action with him, we win too.

Lord, thank you for inviting me to be part of your action plan here on Earth. Help me to do my part. Together we win!
