Entonces Moisés dijo al SEÑOR: Oh Señor, yo jamás he sido hombre de palabras, ni antes ni desde que tú hablas con tu siervo. Porque yo soy tardo de boca y de lengua. El SEÑOR le respondió: ¿Quién ha dado la boca al hombre? ¿Quién hace al mudo y al sordo, al que ve con claridad y al que no puede ver? ¿No soy yo, el SEÑOR? Ahora pues, ve; y yo estaré con tu boca y te enseñaré lo que has de decir.

Los israelitas habían sido esclavos durante muchísimo tiempo, cuatrocientos años, ¿te lo puedes creer? Dios tenía un plan increíble para liberar a su pueblo. Moisés sería el mensajero de Dios enviado al rey de Egipto. Lo que Dios esperaba de su siervo era bastante aterrador. A Moisés le parecía una «misión imposible». Después de todo, tartamudeaba desde que era pequeño. Ya le resultaba bastante difícil hablar con su familia; ¡como para hablar en público o comunicarse con el rey! El Señor le aseguró que le ayudaría.
¿Ya sabes qué es lo que mejor se te da? ¿Los deportes? ¿La lectura? ¿Organizar? ¿Las computadoras? También eres consciente de aquello que no te resulta tan fácil. ¿Las matemáticas? ¿El lenguaje? ¿Los deportes? ¿Hablar en clase? Todo el mundo tiene sus puntos fuertes y débiles. Pero esto no significa que porque una tarea, un asunto o una actividad no se te den bien te los puedes saltar y se acabó. En ocasiones tendrás que hacerlo. Pero del mismo modo en que Dios ayudó a Moisés a llevar a cabo la misión que le había encargado, también te ayudará cuando te enfrentes a una tarea difícil.
Oración
Señor, quiero ser tu enviado en la escuela. Quiero ser alguien con quien puedas contar. Cuando me cueste hacer lo correcto, te ruego que me des el valor y me proporciones la ayuda para hacerlo de todos modos.
Day 271 • Mission Possible
Moses said to the LORD, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” The LORD said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? … I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
(EXODUS 4:10−12)
The Israelites had been slaves for a very long time—would you believe four hundred years? God had an outrageous plan to set his people free. Moses was going to be God’s messenger to the king of Egypt. What God expected Moses to do was pretty scary. For Moses, it seemed like a “mission impossible.” After all, from the time he was a little kid, Moses stuttered. It was hard enough talking to his family, let alone speaking in public or communicating with the king. The Lord assured Moses he would help him.
You know what you’re good at. Sports? Reading? Organizing? Computers? You also know what doesn’t come easy for you. Math? Language arts? Sports? Speaking up in class? Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. Just because a chore, subject, or activity doesn’t come easy doesn’t mean you can skip it. At times you’ll just have to do it. But like God helped Moses accomplish God’s mission, he will help you when you face hard assignments.
Prayer
Lord, I want to be your person at school. I want to be someone you can count on. When doing the right thing doesn’t come easy, please give me the courage and help to do it anyway.
