La tarta de chocolate que con toda seguridad te hará vomitar o la sopa de pollo que curará tu enfriamiento en cinco minutos. Estudiar con un tutor para lograr un sobresaliente en el examen o un examen a ciegas sin haber estudiado. ¿Qué elegirías? ¡Las respuestas parecen obvias! ¿Acaso no sería tonto escoger lo que te enfermara o lo que te hiciera conseguir una mala nota? Por supuesto que sí.
Bueno, en ocasiones la mente no colabora con la verdad ni con lo que tiene sentido. Si pudieras remontarte en el tiempo y preguntarles a los israelitas, estarían de acuerdo. Dios liberó a los israelitas de Egipto. Luego les dio claras instrucciones: síganme y estén a salvo. Apártense y otros los destruirán. Sin embargo, los israelitas perdieron el juicio con bastante frecuencia. Se separaron de Dios. Entonces sufrieron las consecuencias como perder sus hogares, enfrentarse a la hambruna y ser capturados para regresar a la esclavitud. Parece bastante tonto, ¿verdad? Es lo que ocurre con el pecado. Meterse en el pecado y permanecer allí te convierte en un tonto.
Desde el principio, Dios siempre nos proporciona una clara elección. No permitas que la estupidez se lleve lo mejor de ti y te desvíe. Escoge la opción que te ponga del lado de Jesús y a salvo.
Oración
Señor, servir a cualquier cosa que no seas tú no tiene sentido. Sin embargo, las personas lo hacen todo el tiempo. No quiero que el pecado me convierta en un tonto. Muéstrame la forma clara de seguirte, para que mi vida esté siempre en tus manos.
Day 257 • Sin Leads to Stupid
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.

Chocolate cake guaranteed to make you throw up or chicken soup that will cure your cold in five minutes. Working with a tutor for an A+ on a test or a blind exam without any studying? Which would you choose? The answers seem obvious! Wouldn’t it be stupid to choose the one that would make you sick or get a failing grade? Of course.
Well, sometimes the mind doesn’t cooperate with the truth or what makes sense. If you could go back in time and ask any Israelite, they would agree. God delivered the Israelites from Egypt. Then he gave them clear instructions: follow me and be safe. Turn away and others will destroy you. But every so often, the Israelites lost their minds. They turned away from God. Then they suffered the consequences like losing their homes, facing famine, and being kidnapped back into slavery. Seems stupid, doesn’t it? That’s what happens with sin. Stepping into sin and staying there makes you stupid.
God always gives a clear choice from the beginning. Don’t let stupid get the best of you and make you turn away. Choose the option that puts you on God’s side and in safety.
Prayer
Lord, serving anything but you doesn’t make sense. But people do it all the time. I don’t want sin to make me stupid. Show me the clear way of following you so that my life is always in your hands.
