Ustedes no han sufrido ninguna tentación que no sea común al género humano. Pero Dios es fiel, y no permitirá que ustedes sean tentados más allá de lo que puedan aguantar. Más bien, cuando llegue la tentación, él les dará también una salida a fin de que puedan resistir.

Satanás no tiene que tentar a los que ya están cumpliendo su malvada voluntad; ellos ya son suyos. La tentación es una señal de que Satanás te odia. No es signo de debilidad ni mundanalidad. ¡Es un cumplido! Asimismo, es una parte normal de ser humano y de vivir en un mundo caído. Que no te sorprenda ni te desaliente la tentación. Jamás podrás evitarla por completo.
Ser tentado no es un pecado. Jesús fue tentado, pero no pecó jamás. La tentación solo se convierte en un pecado cuando te entregas a ella. Un sacerdote llamado Martín Lutero declaró: «No puedes impedir que los pájaros vuelen sobre tu cabeza, pero sí puedes evitar que hagan un nido en ella». No puedes evitar que el diablo interfiera en tus pensamientos, pero sí puedes escoger no vivir ni actuar de acuerdo con ellos.
En ocasiones, mientras estás orando, Satanás te sugerirá un pensamiento raro o malo solo para distraerte y avergonzarte. No te alarmes y que esto no te incomode. Satanás teme tus oraciones e intentará cualquier cosa para detenerlas. Trátalo como una distracción de Satanás y vuelve a centrarte de inmediato en Dios.
Oración
Señor, cuando Satanás intente tentarme, ayúdame a no ceder. En su lugar, que yo pueda pensar en cosas puras y admirables.
Day 256 • No Biggie
The only temptation that has come to you is that which everyone has. But you can trust God, who will not permit you to be tempted more than you can stand. But when you are tempted, he will also give you a way to escape so that you will be able to stand it.
(1 CORINTHIANS 10:13, NCV)
Satan does not have to tempt those who are already doing his evil will; they are already his. Temptation is a sign that Satan hates you. It is not a sign of weakness or worldliness. It’s a compliment! It is also a normal part of being human and living in a fallen world. Don’t be surprised or discouraged by temptation. You will never be able to avoid it completely.
It is not a sin to be tempted. Jesus was tempted, yet he never sinned. Temptation only becomes a sin when you give in to it. A priest named Martin Luther said, “You cannot keep birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair.” You can’t keep the Devil from suggesting thoughts, but you can choose not to dwell or act on them.
Sometimes while you are praying, Satan will suggest a bizarre or evil thought just to distract you and shame you. Don’t be alarmed or ashamed by this. Satan fears your prayers and will try anything to stop them. Treat it as a distraction from Satan and immediately refocus on God.
Prayer
God, when Satan tries to tempt me, help me to not give in. Give me thoughts on pure and admirable things instead.
