Entonces Dios le dijo a Moisés: Ve a hablar con el rey de Egipto, y dile de mi parte que los deje ir al desierto para que me adoren. Si no los deja ir, yo haré que todo Egipto se llene de ranas.

En ocasiones resulta difícil cambiar de idea. Has creído algo durante tanto tiempo que te parece lo correcto. Entonces descubres que tal vez lo que creías nos completamente verdad o correcto.
Como el faraón, que creyó que los israelitas estaban allí para servir a los egipcios. Pensaba que tenía todos los derechos de tenerlos como esclavos para su pueblo. Pero Dios, por medio de Moisés, intentó enseñarle otra cosa distinta a Faraón. Una y otra vez, el faraón prometió dejarlos ir y después cambió de opinión, incluso frente al sufrimiento de su propio pueblo. Tú y yo lo hacemos todo el tiempo. Aplazamos los cambios que sabemos serán buenos para nosotros o los que nos rodean. ¿Por qué? Tal vez somos demasiado perezosos o estamos asustados. Quizás somos demasiado orgullosos u obcecados. Cualquiera que sea la razón, dejamos las cosas para después.
Una cosa es decirte que Jesucristo puede ayudarte a vencer los problemas a los que te estás enfrentando ahora mismo. ¡Otra bien distinta es que tú le dejes verdaderamente empezar a hacerlo ahora! ¿Lo vas a aplazar hasta mañana?
Oración
Jesús, sé que me puedes ayudar con los problemas de los que me estoy ocupando. Hoy te pido que te encuentres conmigo donde yo estoy, con mis problemas y todo, y ayúdame a cambiar lo que necesito cambiar ahora mismo.
Day 227 • Dragging Your Feet
GOD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him, ’GOD’s Message: Release my people so they can worship me. If you refuse to release them, I’m warning you, I’ll hit the whole country with frogs.’
(EXODUS 8:1−2, MSG)
Sometimes it’s hard to change your mind. You’ve believed something for so long it just feels right. And then you find out maybe what you believe isn’t completely true or right.
Like the Pharaoh, who believed the Israelites were there to serve the Egyptians. He believed he had every right to have them as slaves for his people. But God, through Moses, tried to teach Pharaoh differently. And time and again, Pharaoh promised to let them go only to change his mind—even in the face of the suffering of his own people! You and I do this all the time. We put off changes that we know will be good for us or others around us. Why? Maybe we are too lazy or maybe we are afraid. Maybe we are too proud or stubborn. Whatever the reason, we procrastinate.
It Is one thing for me to tell you that Jesus Christ can help you conquer the problems you are facing right now. But it is quite another matter for you to actually let him begin to do it now! Are you going to put it off until tomorrow?
Prayer
Jesus, I know you can help me with the problems I’m dealing with. Today, I ask that you meet me where I am, problems and all, and help me change what I need to change right now.
