Yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos; el que permanece en mí, y yo en él, este lleva mucho fruto; porque separados de mí nada podéis hacer.

Morar en Cristo significa vivir, habitar y permanecer en él. Morar con alguien, no es juntarse ocasionalmente o una corta visita diaria, sino cohabitar constantemente con esa persona. Dave y yo moramos (vivimos, habitamos y permanecemos) juntos y lo hemos hecho por cincuenta y cuatro años. Sabemos todo del otro y nuestras vidas están intrínsecamente entrelazadas a tal punto que sería muy difícil separarlas. Ese es el tipo de relación que Jesús quiere tener contigo.
El versículo de hoy dice que, si permaneces en Cristo, cosecharás muchos frutos. También, si permaneces en Cristo, puedes pedirle lo que quieras y “os será hecho” (Juan 15:7). Mientras permanecemos en Cristo, llegamos a conocerlo más profunda e íntimamente, y su influencia continua nos modela cada vez más a su imagen.
Un cambio verdadero no ocurre cuando te debates para modificar tu comportamiento, sino por permanecer tan profundamente en Cristo que te conviertes en alguien como él y comienzas a cosechar la misma buena fruta que él cosecha. Haz todo lo que haces con él y para Él, y te sorprenderás de los cambios positivos en tu vida.
Oración:
“Padre, enséñame a permanecer en ti en todo momento. Te deseo más que cualquier otra cosa y alejado de ti, nada puedo hacer. Ruego por el regalo de tu manifiesta presencia. Gracias te doy en el nombre de Jesús. Amén”.
ABIDE IN CHRIST
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
—JOHN 15:5 ESV
To abide in Christ means to live, dwell, and remain in Him. Abiding with someone is not an occasional get-together, or even a short daily visit, but a continuous dwelling with that person. Dave and I abide (live, dwell, and remain) together and have for fifty-four years. We know everything about each other, and our lives are intricately intertwined to the point where it would be hard to separate them. This is the kind of relationship that Jesus wants to have with you.
Today’s scripture says that if you abide in Christ, you will bear much fruit. Also, if you abide in Christ, you can ask what you wish, and it will be done for you (John 15:7). As we abide in Christ, we come to know Him more deeply and intimately, and His continual influence changes us into His image.
True change does not come from struggling to modify your behavior, but from abiding so deeply in Christ that you become like Him and begin to bear the same good fruit He bears. Do everything you do with and for Him, and you will be amazed at the positive changes in your life.
Prayer:
“Father, teach me to abide in You at all times. I desire You more than any other, and apart from You, I can do nothing. I ask for the gift of Your manifest presence. In Jesus’ name, thank You. Amen.”
