THE POWER OF HOPE

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.
—ROMANS 15:13 AMP

When you begin to feel downcast or lack peace, ask yourself what you are believing. As long as we believe and trust that all things are possible with God, the hope in our hearts will keep us joyful and peaceful. Hope means to expect something good to happen. So let me ask you: What are you expecting?

We don’t always get what we want when we ask God for something, but we can be sure that we will get what is best for us. James writes that we need to view various types of trials and difficulty with joy, knowing that they will eventually work good, godly qualities into our character (James 1:1–4).

When you encounter a problem, it is a great time to remember all the other problems you have had and to think about how God took care of them. Trust Him to do it again.

Keeping your joy is very important, because your joy is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Don’t let the devil fill you with fear, doubt, and unbelief. Stay full of hope and faith.

Prayer:
“Father, I want to be stable in all situations and never to stop trusting You. Strengthen my faith, and help me always believe Your promises. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
